MADINA DIXON R.N., BHS
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Madina Dixon moved to Jackson, Mississippi and attended Wingfield High School. She received an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College Allied Nursing, followed by a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Alcorn State University, graduating as a Presidential Scholar in 1999.

Following graduation, Madina worked for eight years for Baptist Health Systems on the busy Medical/Surgical floor. Her knowledge and understanding of breast health has grown significantly since becoming a nurse for Dr. Ley in 2003.

Madina received an Edu Care Breast Health Certification in San Diego, California, in 2006, as well as a Breast Self Examination Certification in March 2008. These certificates have allowed her to teach and care for women affected with breast diseases and cancer, as well as impress upon women the importance of monthly breast exams.

Dr. Ley's bold dream of creating a Mississippi Breast Cancer License plate became a reality in 2005. With a great effort from patients and friends, 200 tags were pre-sold, and every month the license plate contributes $4,000 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Breast Cancer Affiliate in Jackson, the Steel Magnolias. As an active member of the Steel Magnolias, Madina currently attends monthly meetings and serves as a Chair for the Activists Committee.
